My list of favorite spots to eat in Chapel Hill/Carrboro would be a very long one, but this Washington Post article touts 3 excellent choices.  And Blue Dogwood Public Market, opening at 306 West Franklin Street, looks to be a fine addition the local food scene.  It’s interesting to note that this location was the home of Fowler’s Food Store, which opened in 1955.  Fowler’s was known for it’s wide variety of specialty food items, extensive wine section, and gargantuan beer cooler, lovingly known as Big Bertha.  I bought my first bottle of Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon at Fowler’s in 1982!
